On June 16, 2024, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1656/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the rearrangement and adjustment of administrative boundaries at commune and district levels in Hanoi. This Resolution officially took effect on June 16, 2025, marking an important step in streamlining the administrative apparatus, improving management effectiveness, and meeting the requirements of the capital city’s sustainable development in the new era.
According to Resolution No. 1656/NQ-UBTVQH15, after the rearrangement, Hanoi City has 126 commune-level administrative units, including 51 wards and 75 communes.
Based on the implementation of Resolution No. 1656/NQ-UBTVQH15, the official addresses of VNU’s facilities have changed as follows:
- VNU Headquarters in Hoa Lac:
Consisting of: VNU (Office and functional Departments); Vietnam-Japan University (VJU), Library and Digital Knowledge Center, National Defense and Security Education Center, Physical Education and Sports Center, High-Tech and Innovation Park, Project Management Board, WB Project Management Board, Digital Training and Testing Institute, University Urban Management Center, Education Quality Assessment Center, High School of Educational Sciences (HES) and a complex of lecture halls, dormitories, etc.
