Pic 1: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu The Anh, Project Manager, presented a summary of the task implementation results.

The project has made an essential contribution to highlighting the brand and value of Lang Son’s custard apple products in the Vietnamese agricultural market. In terms of economy, the project highlights the origin of the product, clearly indicating the characteristics and specific quality of custard apple products grown in Lang Son Province, primarily concentrated in Chi Lang and Huu Lung districts. Lang Son’s custard apple products show apparent differences in terms of sensory morphology as well as physical and chemical composition compared to other localities. This is an advantage that increases competitiveness and economic value for custard apple growers in the geographical area where the product is produced. In addition, this can also be an opportunity to promote the development of other economic sectors, such as eco-tourism and agricultural tourism, and increase employment opportunities for local people. In terms of culture and society, Lang Son’s custard apple geographical indication is a long-term legal basis, increasing cumulative value and promoting the brand of the product. At the same time, preserve and develop traditional products, conserve the value and beauty of Lang Son’s agricultural culture, and contribute to enhancing the reputation and image of Vietnamese farm products during the process of global economic integration.

The Acceptance Council highly appreciated the scientific results achieved by the project, especially the practical values that the project brought to Lang Son province in general and to Lang Son custard apple products in particular. Based on reviewing the project documents, studying the contents of the project summary report and listening to the project manager’s report presenting the implementation results, the Science and Technology Council reviewed, exchanged, discussed, evaluated and approved the project implementation results: The project implemented and achieved all the set objectives, the project contents were fully implemented according to the approved Description and the signed Contract; The research methods and techniques used were consistent with the general goals of the task. The project’s results have scientific value and can be applied in practice. In particular, the main product of the Lang Son’s Custard apple Geographical Indication Project has been granted certificate No. 00140 by the Department of Intellectual Property – Ministry of Science and Technology under Decision No. 560/QD-SHTT, dated June 28, 2024.
